Work Programme
helping people find sustainable employment

The DWP Work Programme has now come to an end - 31st March 2019.

Concept Training was successful in up-skilling a large number of people and helping them get sustainable employment. We are very proud of the work we have done and the lives we helped change - thank you to all of our clients for taking the journey with us.

Concept Training has been working in Employment Services and Training for the past twelve years, having participated as both prime and sub-contractor for government funded employability schemes across Kent including Return to Work, New Deal / Flexible New Deal, and currently as a sub-contractor to Avanta delivering the Work Programme contract in Ashford (Kent).

Over the years Concept Training has accomplished into work targets by building a strong employer database maintained by providing in-work support and training to both candidates and employers. In-work training includes delivery of NVQ/QCF qualifications and management of Apprenticeships (Level 2-7). Repeated success has been achieved through an understanding with employers that candidates offered are appropriately screened and work ready through our Pre-Employment Training (PET) programmes.

Candidates attending our centres receive Information Advice & Guidance (IAG) from experienced, qualified staff, recognised for the quality of their provision by Matrix (Quality standards for IAG Services), Investors in People (Gold award) and maintained through membership of the Association of Employers and Learning Providers (AELP).  

Following an insight interview all clients receive a bespoke programme to meet their individual needs. This typically includes assistance in CV writing and enhancement, letter writing, telephone and interview techniques and support and guidance in work search (most of the above activities can be offered as units towards an accredited qualification).

Clients that are not work ready, in addition to the above, are offered various levels of skills training. Qualifications in Literacy, Numeracy and Information Technology (IT) are available at Entry Level 1-3 and Level 1 and 2. Accredited vocational training can also be provided for candidates who require First Aid (CIEH Award in Emergency First Aid at Work), Health & Safety (CITB Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)) and other appropriate work related qualifications.

Concept Training also provide introduction courses (Entry level 3 and above) to various trades (Predominantly Construction Industry related).

Centre status is maintained with City and Guilds, OCR, CITB (CSkills), ASDAN as well as a number of sector specific awarding organisations.
